God Has Time to Listen if You Have Time to Pray
When we encounter situations or circumstances that seem over our heads, we don’t know what to do. These are the times we need to talk to God. David gives us several instances when he turned to God in good times and in bad.
When David faced Goliath, he spoke of his former victories of killing the lion and bear. The devil never wants you to gain strength in remembering what you know in God’s Word through past experiences. Never be afraid to remind the devil of your authority in Jesus.
David sang songs of praise as he watched over his father’s sheep. There is time solitude can be a powerful tool to focus our thoughts. Praising God is one tool that can give us new perspectives as it builds confidence in the ways of God.
When David hid in caves from King Saul, he prayed and encouraged himself in God. He had life issues like everyone else, but his problems didn’t control him. Spending time with God:
I am reminded of the song “I Must Tell Jesus All My Troubles.” When it seems like circumstances are pulling you under, Jesus is your lifeline. When you may experience hopelessness, be not dismayed; God is faithful to bring you through. It doesn’t matter if you are a new believer in Christ or someone who has been saved for a considerable time, God has time to listen if you have time to pray. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of situations or people, for the Lord your God goes with you, He never leaves you nor forsakes you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
