Fruit People

Matt. 7:16-20 (NKJV) “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit…”

People experience our fruit by seeing us in action. They watch our character, level of integrity, honesty, and the list goes on. Do we live in such a way that people want our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? When we allow the Holy Spirit to build our character, there is no telling what can happen in our lives!

2 Cor. 5:17 (AMP) “Therefore, if any person is [grafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”

Psalms 34:8 (AMP) “O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.”

When you see a person living the Christ kind of life, you know that person is tightly connected to the vine. (John 15:1) So, ask yourself, “What type of fruit does the world see when they see me in action?”

1. Real Fruit People: These believers look good, taste good, and are growing because of a strong and healthy relationship with the source of nutrients. They live in obedience to the Father and His will. They love to hear His voice. They have given Him freedom to order their steps and to speak into their lives.
2. Chameleon Fruit People: These believers don’t want to seem strange or different. They are in the business of blending in, so their attitude is to look and be like everyone else. “Let Jesus stay in the closet.”
3. Glass Fruit People: These believers look beautiful on the outside, shiny like a new penny. But, they have allowed life’s situations to harden them on the inside. They have not allowed for a loving and forgiving heart to free them of bitterness, anger, envy, and revenge.
4. Wooden Fruit People: These believers leave splinters wherever they go. With hearts that have become hardened by hurt and pain, they stay ready to prick anyone who gets too close. They run from the community of believers.
5. Plastic Fruit People: These believers look good but have no substance because they have a shallow relationship with the Father. The enemy continuously steals the Word from their hearts because they use their emotions as a gauge to live by instead of a gauge letting them know something is wrong. Everything is more important than drawing near to God. “Surely God understands that life is full of busy schedules.”

In life we make choices, which determine the course we follow if there is no intervention! By choosing to walk in the Spirit, we will mature. And this will produce the fruit of the Spirit in us.

Gal 5:16-18 (NKJV) “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”

Gal 5:19-26 (NKJV) “Now the works (fruit) of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Let the path you pursue become manifest in the fruit you show.
