Serving The Unlimited God
I am certain that many people are glad 2020 has ended! I don’t know about you, but I’m thankful 2020 is behind me. However, there is an enormous job of replacing and rebuilding the shattered pieces of people’s lives. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and the pandemic is not over despite having a vaccine. But one thing I know for sure is, ‘God is good all the time and all the time God is good!’ He has graced us with another year, a new year in the chapter of our lives. Only you can write your own story on those blank pages as you enter into 2021.
Being the ‘real you’ in 2021 can only be done by telling the person in your mirror, “I am not going to allow you to sabotage my future.” Scripture tell us as a man thinketh in his heart so is he! We are on the threshold of 2021. A person shared with me that they were born with various likes and dislikes. “I cannot change, this is who I am.” What a HOPELESS VIEW. It’s excluding God totally out of their lives. Believe change is possible with God’s help.
Unhealthy attitudes, perfectionism, false guilt, and apathy all undermine our enjoyment of life. We bring on self-imposed pressure by wearing hats God never told us to put on. Then we blame God because we’re stressed to the max. This is a huge issue today, busyness isn’t always our friend. We live in a hurry-up society, dashing from one activity to another trying to be like everybody else.
Comparing ourselves with others is baggage too heavy for us to bear! (2 Corinthians 10:12) It causes us to lose out because of being BOGGED DOWN! Our prayer needs to be, “O Lord, help me to dedicate my will to Yours.” Allow God to be your BAGGAGE HANDLER so you can move freely in Him.
Stop depending on your self-abilities because your ability is limited. Depend on God’s ability working in and through you! God’s ability is LIMITLESS. God’s will for you is greater than your will for yourself. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
An obedient heart is a “fixed” heart and is the gift God wants from me this holiday season. A “fixed” heart is a determined heart, a steadfast heart that is rightly focused on God, His will, and His plan. When we choose to follow God’s plan, the desires of our hearts will naturally line up in obedience to that plan. We will find our greatest joy in pleasing God by doing His will because that is what we were created to do.
