Prayer Power
Our grandson likes to harass his younger sister for no other reason than to get a response out of
her. And it works. (Understand, this jesting is normal with siblings; big brother little sister
messing around. These kids love each other dearly and will come to the other’s defense in a
heartbeat!) So, her parents, grandfather, and I encouraged our granddaughter to demonstrate her
“girl-power.”
She asked us what was meant by girl-power. We explained that being a girl or female does not
mean she is weaker. Girl-power is recognizing the strength within, and that she is a confident
young girl who possesses the ability to succeed in whatever she sets her heart on. We told her to
roll up her sleeves, make a fist, and show her muscles (LOL). After much practice and despite
her brother laughing at her showing her muscles, her big bother got the picture that girl-power
means ‘I am strong and confident in who I am, so you better not mess with me (lol).’ A great
lesson for all of us! As Christ-followers, we can roll up our spiritual sleeves and fight the Devil
back with Prayer-Power!
Luke 10:19 (KJV) “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over
all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
1 Thess. 5:17 (KJV) “Pray without ceasing.” God’s Grace is more than sufficient to handle
every attack against us. Use your “prayer power” against:
Drought and complacency in your life
Dryness in your spiritual walk
Distress
Disease
Depression
Demonic attacks
You can take authority over every stronghold of the enemy:
2 Cor. 10:3-6 (NKJV) “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all
disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”
You have the prayer-power to proclaim JESUS IS LORD over your: marriage, spouse, children,
relationships, home, jobs, finances, ministries, whatever situations you face.
Flex your spiritual muscles and speak your prayer-power: “No more! No longer will I stand by
and allow evil to control my life and those whom I love! I pray for freedom, healing,
deliverance, peace, and joy in every aspect of my life and into those I love. I am strong in the
Lord and in the power of His might, and I stand confident in His never-ending Love. I pray this
in the mighty name of Jesus! AMEN”
