Fruitful or Fruitless Part 2
“O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be
envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him” (Psalms 34:8 AMP).
Christ’s intent is for every child of God to live a fulfilled life in their relationship
with God the Father, and a fruitful life while here on earth. But sadly, not everyone
walks in the freedom that is offered. Many give in to the lies of the enemy and the
pressures of life.
In life we make choices, which determine the course we follow if there is no
intervention! Tools that Satan uses against us are drugs, alcohol, sexual
promiscuity, and the list goes on. Also, the weight of your past can and will tie you
down and make you vulnerable to sin; it can cause you to acquire maladaptive sets
of behavior. These derailments can keep you from fulfilling your dreams and will
cause you to abort your purpose. As a result, you eventually leave planet earth
never realizing your potential. The graveyard is full of lost potential geniuses, lost
hope, lost dreams, lives unfulfilled. “I wish I should have because I could have.”
My weaknesses may not be yours or vice versa, but know this, the whole purpose
of Satan is to abort the will of God in your life.
When you see a person living the Christ kind of life, you know that person has
made choices to stay tightly connected to the vine. “I am the vine, you are the
branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from
me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 NIV).
We will mature as we choose to stay connected to the vine, Jesus. This will
produce the fruit of the Spirit in us. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against
such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep
in step with the Spirit” (Gal 5:22-25 NIV).
“Therefore, if any person is [grafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation
(a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has
passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (2 Cor. 5:17 AMP).
