Jesus has Big Plans for You
Thirty years ago, the Lord came to me in the middle of the night and ministered this to me while living in Minneapolis, before moving to Seattle. It was a very dark time in my life. I was in doubt about what I believed, why didn’t God turn things around for me? I had worked so hard in the church, worked long hours on my job, worked hard on being a good wife, and the list goes on. I was facing the wall, engulfed in the blackness of night when He told me this loud and clear:
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back from captivity’” (Jer. 29:11-14 NIV). My capacity was overwhelming church issues, married issues, a son with intellectual disability issues, financial issues, feeling like I was under water and going down for the third time!
A few days later I saw a Message Bible on our bookshelf. The Lord prompted me to open it up and read the scripture HE gave a few nights ago, and this was what it said:
“‘I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out — plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed.’ God's Decree. ‘I will turn things around for you’” (Jer 29:11-14 Message Bible).
God has been faithful to His Word.
