Pure Love in Action

I love the Easter Season because it reinforces that Christ loved me so much that He gave His life for my redemption. There is song that really ministered to me. I do not have rights to this song, but it expresses the heart of Christ for me.

“How Deep the Father’s Love”, written by Stuart Townend (1995):

How deep the Father's love for us?
How vast beyond all measure?
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great is the pain of searing loss?
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon the cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there,
Until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life,
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom.
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have paid my ransom.

I always say if I were the only person on planet earth, Christ would still come to redeem me from my sins. But be assured that Christ gave His life for all humanity which includes you as well. “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God did not go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again” (John 3:16-17 Message Bible).
