God Knew You From The Beginning
I realize that Good Friday and Easter have passed. But a family member oftentimes reminds me that when your birthday rolls around, that entire month allows you to celebrate the joyous occasion, marking when you were born into this world as a bundle of joy to your parents or parent. With that in mind, I am celebrating all of April when I was born again through Christ’s redemptive work on Calvary. He gave His life which entitled me to eternal life in Him. Actually, we should continue with a joyous attitude because He lives, we are now able to have a second rebirth in Christ. (2 Cor 5:17)
It is a joyous occasion that we can celebrate the gift of eternal life in Christ. I am not going to use the term ‘free gift’ as, in a natural sense, our birthday gifts are not free. I do not really believe in the word FREE because someone paid so that we could enjoy what was given. God planned and knew us before He started creation in Genesis 1. Then God created a beautiful gift called ‘earth’ for us to enjoy. Even though sin originated in the Garden with Adam and Eve through disobedience and rebellion, God already had a plan for man.
“Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other” (2 Cor 5:17-18 Message Bible). Jesus Christ is the greatest gift we will ever receive.
