Times We are Living In
We are truly living in a perilous time. People call right wrong and wrong right, walking around looking normal but are inwardly drugged. They refuse to see what’s in front of their faces of what’s going crazy in our society; they refuse to see the signs of the times; they refuse to see that the Bible is the being fulfilled every day that we open our eyes. They are walking in a spirit of delusion as being fulfilled in scripture: “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 KJV).
The church is living in an age of apostasy and it will only get worse. (Apostasy is an act of refusing to continue to follow, obey, or recognize a religious faith, or abandonment of a previous loyalty.) God is calling every believer to discern the times and not get caught in the whirlwind of deception. He is calling us to be rooted and grounded in His Word. “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12-13 NKJV).
God is calling us to relationship with Him instead of relationship with the world, and to focus on what has real value. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:19-20 NIV).
