Strength in Relationships

Our church’s Women’s Group recently hosted a retreat with two other churches. Our theme, ‘Strength in Relationships’, emphasized the importance of women to build healthy relationships with one another as well as family and community. With so much happening locally, state-wide, and nationally, it’s time to not only band together to support one another, but also to pray for our upcoming election, the world unrest, and the plight of our churches along with their pastors.

God never created mankind with the mentality of isolation. So often our hurts from the past haven’t been healed which causes us to keep our true selves hidden. But the Lord wants us to allow His power to heal and restore so we can have an impact on those around us. There are so many Christians who are hurting who need our story of healing and restoration through the power of releasing all pain to God. “If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?” (Ecclesiastes 4:10-11 NIV)

Jeremiah 33:6-7 tells us that God wants to work a true healing inside and out. He wants to give our lives wholeness and brimming with blessings. His promises are yes and Amen, and I always tell people that we can take God’s promises to the bank.

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so, through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” (2 Cor 1:20-22 NIV).

Your Heavenly Father wants to have a genuine relationship with you. Give all your brokenness to Him and allow Him to bring healing to your life. “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19 NIV)
