Problems Can Lead to Opportunities
We can look at a glass half empty or half full depending on our perspective. It’s important to understand that the devil is on his job to deter us from the call of God, especially when we go through hard times. But God wants to use these times to get our attention to shape us and to cause us to grow. “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us” (Rom 5:3-5 NIV).
Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed but that’s when it’s critical to go to His Word, to return to the cross that paved the way for our Salvation. An Internet quote: “The cross serves as a powerful reminder of faith, sacrifice, and the intersection of love and justice in Christian belief.” It represents the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, embodying love and redemption for humanity. It will toughen us up to take our next step in the Lord. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Heb 12:1-3 NIV).
God will never put on us more than what we can bear, but will always be there to walk beside us, in good times and bad. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:2-6 NIV).
